The Volvo 122S was during its production period (1957 - 1970), with its
667,791 cars produced, the most popular vehicle from the manufacturer
Volvo and thus even surpassed its predecessor PV544, also in terms of
quality. Characteristic of the 122S model, which was released in 1958,
was the B16 engine, which was powered with a displacement of 1.580 cm³
and a double carburettor system and thus made 56KW (76 hp). In 1961 the
B18 motorized variant with 1.778 cm³ and 66KW (90PS) came onto the
market. This motorization pushed the vehicle to a maximum speed of 148
km/h. The high level of quality is also reflected in the robust body and the two-tone paintwork.
