510001482€16.79
The Supermarine Spitfire fighter aircraft can undoubtedly be considered one of the most famous airplanes in the history of aviation and an icon of British aeronautical engineering. A single-engine, low-wing monoplane equipped with effective offensive armament, it formed—along with the Hawker Hurricane—the backbone of the Royal Air Force’s fighter units during the Battle of Britain against the German Luftwaffe. Throughout the war, in order to counter enemy technological advancements, the Spitfire underwent continuous development in both aerodynamic configuration and powerplant options. The Spitfire V, produced from 1941 and powered by the 1,440 hp Merlin engine, was widely distributed to operational units and later evolved into the Mk IX version. Flown by the most renowned aces of the British Royal Air Force, it achieved a significant number of aerial victories.

The "F" variant marked a significant advancement over earlier models. The Boeing B-17F featured extended operational range, the ability to carry a substantial offensive payload, and enhanced defensive armament consisting of ten .50 caliber machine guns. One of the most appreciated features among flight crews was the B-17’s remarkable ability to return to base despite sustaining heavy structural damage from enemy fire.
