Article number: 510006755 Product: 1:35 LCM 3 (Landing craft mechanized) The Landing Craft Mechanized (LCM) is arguably the most famous landing craft in history, its profile intimately linked to Allied amphibious operations in World War II, from Anzio to the beaches of Normandy. The LCM-3 variant is certainly one of the most successful and effectively employed. The design was simple and straightforward yet extremely rational. The large front loading ramp allowed for the rapid disembarkation of a fully armed infantry squad as well as a 30-ton medium Sherman tank. The armor was very light, protecting the diesel engine, which enabled the LCM to reach a maximum speed of 8 knots, and the crew required for navigation and close defense, consisting of four men. However, significant was its loading capacity and operational flexibility, which allowed the LCM-3 to carve out an important place in 20th-century military history.   Warning! Often known as "Amtrac," they were widely used in the Pacific theater against Japanese forces, as well as in the European theater during the last year of the war. The LVT-4, in particular, represented a significant improvement over previous versions. With the redesign, the engine was relocated to a central position, freeing up the rear of the vehicle for the addition of a ramp that allowed for the rapid loading and unloading of light vehicles or small-caliber artillery pieces to support landing troops. It was developed to provide the armored divisions of the Wehrmacht with a heavily armored and heavily armed tank to complement the more common medium tanks, Panzer III and Panzer IV, which were no longer effectively countering enemy tanks. Its primary armament consisted of the renowned and lethal long-barreled 88mm KwK 36 L/56 anti-tank gun. Installed in the turret and protected by a heavy 120mm shielding, it could penetrate the armor of any contemporary enemy vehicle even at long distances. Deployed on all major theatres of operation, it played an active role in German military operations in Normandy and the Western Front. Despite facing issues of reliability and deployment, the heavy tank, when operated by skilled crews, was always greatly feared by the Allied forces.   Warning! In 1935 Teseo Tesei and Elios Toschi developed and perfected the Siluro a Lenta Corsa (S.L.C.), which was more informally known as "Maiale" (Pig). This was a torpedo modified to allow it to be guided underwater by two operators equipped with respirators. It was intended to carry a high explosive warhead under the keel of enemy ships. The modified torpedoes had limited speed, were fitted with a guidance system and held batteries that powered the electric motor which guaranteed a range of 12-15 miles. The most notable action of these Italian Navy raiders took place on 19th December 1941. Transported by the submarine "Scirè" to the strongly defended Alexandria harbour, the S.L.C.’s were able to attack and disable for several months, Royal Navy battleships H.M.S: Valiant and the H.M.S. Small craft were not covered by these stipulations and resulted in the development of motor torpedo boats starting in the late 1920s. ?The design was based on a civil yacht which was, however, modified to be able to transport two torpedoes: the S-1. ?The evolution of the design continued until it reached, in its most advanced models, 35 meters in length weighing in at 100 metric tons. Even room for secondary armaments was progressively increased. The construction was composite, with aluminium beams and wooden planking. The characteristic ironclad deckhouse appeared with the S-100 model and was a necessary response to increased Allied air superiority and to the intensified low flying air attacks being flown. The boats were primarily used to attack allied ships in the coastal areas of the British Isles, but were also used for operations in the Mediterranean and Black seas, usually under cover of dark. Starting in 1943, after great part of the Kriegsmarine had been either destroyed or immobilised, these motor torpedo boats were among the few vessels still in the water and able to perform military operations, exposing them to a progressively increasing number of battles and the consequent grave losses.

In the construction phase of the L40, the original L6/40 tank turret was removed and the 47/32 Mod.1935 anti-tank cannon, similar to the one used on the "M" series tanks, was installed in the open casemate. The Semovente was notable for its small size, the plate and rivet armor used being typical of Italian production of the period and by a crew of only two men. Despite its battlefield performance being clearly inadequate in the face of enemy armor, it continued to be used during the Second World War by Italian Forces in Libya, Tunisia and also in the homeland campaign. Article number: 510002767 Product: 1:48 Macchi MC. 200 Series XXI-XXIII Designed by the celebre engineer Mario Castoldi, the Macchi Mc 200 has represented a significant production evolution of the Italian fighter aircrafts. Compared to the biplanes Fiat CR 32 and Fiat CR 42 that were the main Italian fighters squadrons structure at the beginning of the Second World War, the Macchi Mc 200 distinguished itself, together with its contemporary Fiat G50, for its monoplane configuration and for the entire metallic airframe structure. The 14 radial cylinder Fiat A.74 RC 38 double star engine was able to release 840 HP and allowing the Macchi Mc 200 to reach speeds of 500 Km/H. In comparison with the Allied fighters, it resulted to be underpowered and, neither the less, a lower fire capacity. Two 12,7mm Breda-SAFAT machineguns mounted over the characteristic engine bulged nacelle, were the only onboard armament available. In the latest versions, two additional 7,7mm Breda-SAFAT machineguns were incorporated in the wings. It has been deployed by the Regia Aeronautica on the main Second World War fronts: Africa, Mediterranean Sea, Balkans and in Russia. Detailed Plastic Kit

Article number: 510002816 Product: 1:48 Mirage III E The Dassault Mirage III represents a landmark in French aerospace production. Produced from the early 1960s to equip units of the Armée de l'Air, it proved to be extremely effective right from the start. It quickly became a commercial success and was exported to numerous countries, participating in various conflicts during the 1970s and 1980s. Characterized by its distinctive delta wing, it was capable, thanks to its Snecma Atar engine with afterburner, of exceeding Mach 2 speeds. Following the Mirage IIIC, designed for the interceptor role, a multirole and ground-attack version was developed. This led to the Mirage IIIE, characterized aerodynamically by a lengthening of the fuselage to accommodate improved avionics. Detailed plastic kit   Warning! The Northrop F-5 was developed during the 1960s to meet the requirements of a number of NATO countries that needed a simple, cheap and easy to maintain multi-role fighter. Its airframe inspired the subsequent introduction of the F-5E Tiger II in the early 1970s. Equipped with two new J85-GE-21 jet engines capable of providing much higher power and thrust than the previous version, it was characterized by a longer and enlarged fuselage. The improved flight performance arising from the new aerodynamic lay-out, the greater operational range and the updated avionics, allowed the Tiger II to be used successfully by numerous air forces. The basic armaments were two 20 mm cannons installed in the nose under the cabin, supported by the capability to deploy a wide set of air-to-air missiles. In addition to its primary fighter role it still however retained extensive ground attack capabilities. Detailed plastic kit
