The United States Army used GMC M6 from the late 1942 up to the end of World War II on all the operating theaters as the Mediterranean, the European front and the Pacific. The GMC M6 was set up and developed to be anti-tank vehicle but, since the first clashes in Tunisia, its light gun was often ineffective against the most recent German tanks protections. It was deployed operationally for the first time in 1942 by British troops who gave it the nickname "Priest", due to the position of the machine gun in the front of the vehicle which resembled a Church pulpit. The American M-32 ARV was based on the chassis of the well-known Sherman A-4 medium tank and it was used by U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations during the Second World War. Furthermore on M-32 a wide set of repairing tools and spare parts were loaded on board emphasizing its role of real "mobile armoured workshop" capable of operating on the front line. En Italie, une version similaire fut produite par Agusta Westland sous la désignation AB-212. Le AB-212 est un hélicoptère moyen à rotor principal bi-pale équipé de deux turbopropulseurs Pratt & Whitney PT6T délivrant 1.342kW. C’est une évolution du Model 205, la différence principale étant le fuselage ral-longé. Dans la première moitié des années 2000, le AB-212 fut considérablement amélioré pour accroître ses capacités opérationnelles. Il a été équipé de deux mitrailleuses de 7,62mm de sabord et les équipements défensifs ont été accrus avec des lance-leurres anti-missiles et des blindages en matériaux céramiques et Kevlar pour protéger l’équipage. Des AB-212 italiens ainsi modifiés sont utilisés en Afghanistan depuis 2006, au sein de Force Internationale d’Assistance et de Sécurité.

Conçu par le célèbre ingénieur Rosatelli dans la première moitié des années 30, le Fiat CR 32 fonctionnait avec un moteur à 12 cylindres inversés en V de 600 ch. qui permettait d'atteindre 375 km/h. Parmi les biplans les plus connus de l'Histoire de l'Aviation, il se distinguait par son extraordinaire manœuvrabilité. Il était également robuste et bien armé pour la période historique grâce aux deux mitrailleuses Breda-Safat de 12,7 mm qui tiraient à travers le disque de l'hélice. Le FIAT CR 32 connut son baptême du feu avec l'Aviation Légionnaire, durant la Guerre Civile Espagnole et il prévalut immédiatement sur les monoplans de chasse de fabrication soviétique comme les Polikarpov I-16 qui équipaient les services de la l'Aviation Républicaine. Grâce à son extraordinaire manœuvrabilité et à la formation des pilotes italiens, le CR 32 prévalut aussi sur les avions dont la conception était la plus moderne et la plus actuelle. Rapide aussi pour ces années, le bombardier de fabrication soviétique Tupolev SB-2, choisi justement pour sa vitesse non interceptable, subit de nombreuses pertes durant les batailles aériennes avec les "Chirri" de l'Aviation Légionnaire.

Grace à son moteur radial Fiat A.74 suralimenté et refroidi par air, la Fiat C.R.42 a pu atteindre 400 Km / h. Il avait une maniabilité extraordinaire, très appréciée des pilotes italiens, mais souffrait des limites de configuration "biplan". Il a réussi à engager avec succès les Gloster Gladiators mais il a rapidement été surclassé par des monoplans plus rapides et lourdement armés comme le Hawker Hurricane et le Supermarine Spitfire. Plusieurs Fiat C.R.42, avec les chasseurs Fiat G 50 et les bombardiers BR-20 et CANT Z 1007, ils furent également utilisés pendant la Bataille d'Angleterre, encadrés dans l'Armée de l'Air Italienne.   Attention ! Le bombardier en piqué JU-87 est sûrement l’un des avions les plus connus et célèbres de la seconde guerre mondiale.  Cette caractéristique de l’avion à aile en forme de « mouette » acquit une grande notoriété au début de la guerre et fut considérée, avec les Divisions Panzer de la Wehrmacht, symbole de la Blitzkrieg. Au cours de la guerre, de nouvelles versions avec des profils opérationnels différents ont été introduites. Le Ju-87G a été développé comme une version « antichar » du célèbre Stuka pour combattre un nombre impressionnant de véhicules blindés ennemis sur le front oriental après 1943. Le célèbre pilote de Stuka Hans Ulrich Rudel a suggéré d’appliquer deux canons Flak 18 de 37 mm logés dans des pods sous les ailes pour mieux contrer cette nouvelle menace. Dans cette configuration, le Ju-87G « Kanonenvogel » s'est avéré extrêmement efficace aux mains de pilotes expérimentés. Plus précisément, la version G-2 se caractérisait par une surface alaire accrue dérivée de la version précédente D-5.

Il effectua son premier vol en 1935 et ses débuts au combat en 1936 au sein de la Légion Condor pendant la Guerre Civile Espagnole. Sa voilure en aile de mouette inversée et son train d’atterrissage fixe le rendaient reconnaissable au premier coup d’oeil. Il était doté de plusieurs innovations dont des aérofreins automatiques sous les ailes qui assuraient la remontée à la fin de l’attaque en piqué même si le pilote souffrait d’un voile noir. Il devint un symbole de la « blitzkrieg » (guerre-éclair) pendant les premières phases de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale en fournissant un appui aérien aux Divisions de blindés de la Wehrmacht. La Luftwaffe l’utilisa pendant la Bataille d’Angleterre où il s’avéra lent et vulnérable aux attaques des avions de chasse modernes comme les Hurricane et les Spitfire.

The United States supported the South Vietnam Government against the North Vietnamese regular troops flanked by the People’s Liberation Armed Forces, commonly known as Vietcong. The ground war started on 1965 and ended only ten years later with the fall of Saigon of the evacuation of the latest American soldiers. The long years of war, started with an aerial campaign of bombing on North Vietnam, were characterised by clashed and fighting in tough rural environment with a vegetation and a structure of villages that provided ideal conditions for the guerrilla war. Unfortunately a huge number of civilians were involved in the war and in the military operations. The American military supremacy, which saw the massive use of helicopters and armoured vehicles, was counterbalanced by the effective North Vietnamese and Vietcong tactics. New engines and technological solutions were able to guarantee, compared to the First World War torpedo boats, improved performances and better operation efficency. The German Kriegsmarine developed the famous fast attack craft S-Class during the 1930’s. Among the most famous Schnellboote we can point out the S-38 version. Produced in 100 units, it had a lenght of 35 meters and a displacement, full load, of over 100 tons. Thanks to its 12 cylinders Daimler Benz engines the S-38 was able to reach a speed of 39.5 knots. Armed with two 533 mm. torpedo tubes, it adopted several types of defensive guns. Some of S-38 used the very appreciated 40 mm. Bofors gun. Captured by Germans during the first years of the War, it proved to be a very effective and powerful naval weapon, even more appreciated than the German ones. On the S-38 reliable tech base, the S-100 was developed some years later.
