Article number: 540006836 Product: 1:35 Sd.Kfz.234/4 Pz.Spähwg. w/Night V.F Though originally the Sd.Kfz.234 was a series of reconnaissance vehicles, the last variant, the Sd.Kfz.234/4, served more as a tank hunter than a reconnaissance vehicle. This was due to its installation of a 7.5cm PaK 40 L/46 anti-tank gun in the open-topped fighting compartment. The new kit 6836 features accurate details of the gun, as well as details in the open-top fighting compartment. Additionally, it offers a selection of two different kinds of road wheels. Metal width indicator poles are also included. Furthermore, decals for vehicles used on both the Eastern and Western Fronts are included. Article number: 540006911 Product: 1:35 Sd.Kfz.250/3 "Greif" The best-known Sd.Kfz.250/3 of all was one used by Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, the Desert Fox, during operations in North Africa. He christened his particular vehicle "Greif", which translates as griffin. In actual fact, "Greif" featured an Sd.Kfz.250/Z Panzeraufbau armored superstructure that had unique characteristics such as a vision port in the rear door and a different overhanging shape at the rear. This latest Dragon kit now provides these exact components to build the Desert Fox’s halftrack mount. Furthermore, as it’s a 2-in-1 kit, modelers can choose to build a regular Sd.Kfz.250/3 command halftrack as well. The kit is based on Dragon’s most up-graded Sd.Kfz.250 Smart Kit version, but now modelers can build an Sd.Kfz.250/3 to the very latest contemporary standards, as well as "Greif" for desert operations. Article number: 540006986 Product: 1:35 T-34 747(r) mit 8.8cm FlaK 36/37 The T-34 formed the backbone of the Red Army’s tank fleet during WWII, while the German 8.8cm cannon was one of the most lethal anti-tank weapons of the war. One can speculate – what would happen if you combined the two? Wonder no more, for Dragon’s newest 1/35 scale kit integrates a T-34 chassis with an 8.8cm FlaK 36/37 gun! No photographic confirmation exists of such a combination being put into service, yet it follows the widespread wartime practice of both utilizing captured tanks and mounting anti-tank guns or howitzers on self-propelled chassis. Therefore, one cannot totally rule out the possibility of such a creation having once existed. Or, at the very least, Dragon’s new kit can inspire the modeler’s imagination. This kit comes with Magic Tracks and an aluminum barrel for the cannon (there is even rifling inside the barrel), plus Dragon resorts to 3D printing for the gun mount. One location that produced the T-34 was the Stalingrad Tractor Plant (STZ), which became famous for its role in the brutal Battle of Stalingrad. STZ used blueprints provided by Factory No. 183 in Kharkov to produce the T-34, but it modified them slightly to suit locally available components. Given that 2022 marks the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad, a decisive turning point in WWII, Dragon is releasing two new kits of the T-34/76 STZ Mod.1941 and Mod.1942 in 1/35 scale. Each kit is a 2-in-1 offering, meaning that slightly different configurations for each model year are possible. As to be expected, the models are simply bulging with detail. There are photo-etched parts to represent fine elements. A bonus alimunum gun barrel with rifling is also offered. The tank is shod in Magic Tracks that assemble quickly and easily. Article number: 540006990 Product: 1:35 Tiger I Early Production Wittmann's This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk, the largest armored battle the world has ever seen. Fought by attacking German units and Russian defenders arrayed in depth, the gargantuan battle involved nearly 3,000 German tanks and more than 5,000 Russian ones. Germany kicked off Operation Zitadelle in the late summer of 1943, on 5 July. With massive losses on both sides, it was the last strategic offensive that Germany was able to launch on the Eastern Front. Dragon has a series of new and re-released kits commemorating that major battle on the way, but one of the most remarkable is a new item of a 1/35 Tiger I. What is special about this phenomenal kit is that it represents the Tiger I Early variant used by the famous German tank ace Michael Wittman. At the time of the Kursk fighting, Wittmann was serving in 13./Panzer Regiment 1, and Tiger Is were among the most lethal tank of the battle. This new 1/35 scale release depicts a Tiger I Early-Production tank, and modelers can be assured of user-friendly assembly and enhanced detail. It is replete with Magic Tracks, plus an array of photo-etched components to give the necessary touch of class. Wittmann led his platoon at Prokhorovka with this tank, and by the time the battle was over, his crew had destroyed about 30 Russian tanks and 28 anti-tank guns.
