The JU-87 Stuka was the standard ground attack plane and dive bomber of the German Air Force at the beginning of WWII. In spite of its mediocre characteristics it achieved considerable fame through the psychological impact it had on the population and on the enemy forces. Never before has such massive employment of aircraft been experienced. The success of the Stukas during the first phase of the war was due to total air supremacy guaranteed by the Luftwaffe fighters which permitted the Stukas to operate without being disturbed by enemy aircraft. During the battle of Britain the myth of the JU-87 was re-dimensioned due to the supremacy of British fighter aircraft. Nevertheless the Stukas operated until the end of the war from the African theater to Russia.

The JU-87 dive bomber is certainly one of the best known aircraft of WW2. The characteristic "gull wing" aircraft gained great notoriety at the beginning of the war, and is considered, together with the Panzer Divisions of the Wehrmacht, as defining symbols of the Blitzkrieg. During the war, new versions with differing operational profiles were introduced. The Ju-87G was developed as an "anti-tank" version of the Stuka, to counter the vast array of enemy armored vehicles deployed on the eastern front post 1943.The Stuka "ace" Hans Ulrich Rudel proposed the addition of two 37 mm Flak 18 cannons housed in underwing pods to better counter this developing threat. With this configuration the Ju-87G "Kanonenvogel" proved extremely effective in the hands of experienced pilots. Even more refined was the G-2 version which was characterized by greater wing surfaces, in turn derived from the previous D-5 version. Detailed plastic kit

The Stuka first flew in 1935 and made its combat debut in 1936 as part of the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War . The aircraft was easily recognizable by its inverted gull wings and fixed landing gears. The Stuka's design included several innovative features, including automatic pull-up dive brakes under both wings to ensure that the plane recovered from its attack dive even if the pilot blacked out from the acceleration. It became soon the icon of the German "Blitzkrieg" during the first stages of the Second World War providing the air support to the Wehrmacht Panzer Divisions. It was used by Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain where it showed its weaknesses compared to the faster and well-armed modern fighters as Hurricane and Spitfire.

The 3rd generation American main battle tank the M1 Abrams, is the backbone of the United States Army and United States Marine Corps armored divisions. The Abrams is characterized by its heavy armor (it is one of the heaviest combat vehicles in the world), and also its powerful multifuel turbine engine. The tank first entered service at the beginning of the 1980’s to replace the ageing M-60. It houses a sophisticated computerized fire and control system within its modern armor plated hull. The Abrams offers greater crew protection than many of its predecessors , specifically in the design of the separate and heavily protected ammunition storage area within the main body of the tank. It was initially armed with a 105 mm main gun which is to be up-dated and replaced by a more modern and powerful 120 mm smooth-bore cannon. The Abrams has been extensively and successfully deployed on operational service in several theaters of war, including recent conflicts in the Middle East and Afghanistan. Deatailed plastic kit

Article number: 510006198 Product: 1:72 Montecassino'44 GUSTAV Line Battle During the Italian campaign, in the period from January to May 1944, the allied forces under the command of General Mark Clark, advanced upon the German 10th Army commanded by General Heinrich von Vietinghoff, who were entrenched in defensive positions along the Gustav line. The cornerstone of the Gustav line was the small town of Cassino which controlled the river Liri valley. Cassino itself was dominated by the historic Benedictine abbey of Montecassino, which was an important strategic observation and defensive position of the German forces. The determined resistance offered by the German troops, who held their positions for almost four months, was assisted by the difficult weather conditions, which hindered the allied advance. Fierce fighting ensued to try and oust the Germans from their stubbornly held defensive line. It was not until mid-May that the German positions were finally breached, which allowed the allied advance to Rome to ensure its liberation in June 1944. Detailed plastic kit in scale 1:32

Article number: 510001290 Product: 1:72 S. 79 Sparviero Model Dim.: 22,5 cm Decals for one version. This elegant 3-engined aircraft was originally developed by the Italian aeronautical industry in the mid-30s to provide fast postal links with African colonies. Versions of record-breaking speed were soon developed. Its high velocity performance brought it to the World’s attention when it was used in a purely military role as a bomber and when, during World War Two, it was extensively used as a torpedo bomber in the Mediterranean: despite poor defensive weaponry and crew protection, its successes against allied shipping were numerous.

Article number: 510001412 Product: 1:72 S.M.79 M Sparviero The S.M.79 Sparviero was created and manufactured in the 1930s by Italian company SIAI-Marchetti initially as a civilian aircraft, which then went on to achieve significant world speed records during this period. Featuring a typical three-engine low-wing configuration, it had a wood, canvas and metal frame. Subsequently reconfigured into military variants, it was widely used by the Italian Regia Aeronautica during the Second World War, particularly as a bomber in the Mediterranean theatre and then as an effective torpedo bomber. Recognizable by the "hump" behind the cockpit and due to its three 750 HP Alfa Romeo 126 RC34 radial engines, it was capable of reaching a top speed of 430 km/h. In its basic bomber role it was superseded by many other more modern aircraft, however the "Sparviero" for the entire duration of the conflict achieved significant results in the hands of its skilled crews during torpedo maritime operations in which it attacked enemy shipping. Article number: 510007034 Product: 1:72 Sd. Kfz 250/3 The half-track Sd.Kfz. 250 was widely used by German mechanized troops during the Second World War. Based upon on the technical "lay-out" of the Sd.Kfz.10 artillery tractor, it was intended to be a flexible and reliable solution for integrating infantry and armored troop movements. The Sd.Kfz. 250 was armed with either one or two 7.92mm MG34 machine guns and could deploy, with a high level of protection, a 4-man infantry squad to the battlefield. The operational reliability of the vehicle led to the development of numerous variants, one of which was the 250/3 Leichter Funkpanzerwagen (Light Armored Radio Link Vehicle), used as a radio control nerve center between forward troops, artillery and air support. The "Greif" used by Erwin Rommel in North Africa as a fully advanced command post in close contact with frontline troops is a noted version.

The armored command vehicle was designed on the Panzer I Ausf. B light tank chassis. To increase the space for the unit commander and his staff, the traditional rotating turret with the main armament was removed and a tall fixed superstructure was installed. The commander’s room was able to host the battle maps, the transmission and the communication systems. An additional radio antenna could be used, on the hull, to increase the range of radio communication. Produced from the second half of ‘30s the "Panzerbefehlswagen" has been used in combat operations in September 1939 during the Poland invasion. Powered by a Maybach 6-cylinder petrol engine it was able to reach a speed of 55 km / h even on ‘off road’ terrain. Produced in huge numbers, it was mainly used to transport ‘Panzergrenadiers’, but during the war several versions were developed to meet differing operational requirements. The Wurfrahmen rocket launcher version was built on the Sd.Kfz.251. Equipped with 6 compartments, 3 on each side, intended for the launch of rockets of different sizes, it was nicknamed "Stuka zu Fuss". Although not precise, it could have an important psychological effect on enemy troops and still proved to be a valid support for ground troops especially in urban fighting. Detailed plastic kit

Although it was developed on the tank M13/40 old frame, was the only Italian armored vehicle, produced in large numbers, to pose a serious threat to Allied tanks. Its 75mm gun had a good fire power and was effective even with the most modern and heavily armored enemy tanks like the Sherman. The good and effective gun was not able to compensate several weaknesses such as a too light armor and a unreliable and weak engine directly derived from the tank M13/40. The Italian Semovente was used, in particular, by Ariete and Littorio Armoured Division in North Africa but also, up to the end of war, by Repubblica Sociale in the North of Italy.

Article number: 510001441 Product: 1:72 US F-5A Freedom Fighter During the 1950s, the American Aircraft Company Northrop began developmental work into a simple and "low cost" fighter that would meet the needs of several NATO member air forces. The F-5 met the precise specification, it being a light single-seat fighter, small in size but extremely maneuverable and effective. It was relatively simple and cheap to produce and was operationally efficient. The initial version produced by Northrop, designated F-5 A "Freedom Fighter", was fitted with two General Electric J85-GE-13 engines and could attain a maximum speed of 1,700 Km / h. Armed with two 20 mm. guns installed in the nose, the F-5 was a credible "multi-role" aircraft due to its weapons load capability, which could offer a wide range of offensive options for both air defense and ground attack missions. This multi-role aspect of the aircraft ensured its rapid take-up by many Air Forces. Detailed plastic kit in scale 1:72
