Ettore Bugatti's masterpiece was a unique mix of engineering skill, design, elegance, speed and its relatively light weight. Produced during the 1920s, it won an incredible number of races in both "road" and "on track" competitions. The Bugatti was in fact specifically designed for the world of racing, which included the introduction of technical and mechanical solutions for the car that made it ideal for the racing circuits of the period. Aesthetically, it was universally known and recognisable by the unmistakable shape of the horseshoe-shaped radiator which was a key design feature of Bugatti as a car manufacturer. Due to its 2,263 cm3 8-cylinder engine with a four-speed mechanical gearbox and equipped with a volumetric compressor, the Bugatti Type35B was able to attain a top speed of 210 km / h. Thanks to its characteristics of strength, reliability and performance, it achieved a significant position on the European truck market and it was the most widespread industrial vehicle in Italy in the late 80s.It was declined in numerous versions and adopted several outfitting to satisfy the specific transportation needs of the users. The version with the canvas deck was one of the most common version able to guarantee a great flexibility of transport of all types of goods. Another great advantage of the Iveco 190.42 was the loading capacity compared to the overall dimension. The payload / size ratio provided by 190.42 was an important factor to perform transportation duties outside of the motorways and even in the smaller urban area. Often an hydraulic rear platform to make easier the loading and unloading activities was added to the canvas version. The Turbostar enjoyed considerable commercial success thanks to the two-axle "road tractor" version, a feature which became a reference point for road transport in the 1980s. The wide range of engines available also ensured that the vehicle performed it’s industry tasks exceptionally well over all distances. The American Bantam Company, Willys Overland, and Ford Motor Co. competed with each other. Willys prototype was chosen, which, after an initial run of 1500 vehicles, went into mass production at the beginning of1941 and reached a total output of 640.000 units out of which 277.000 pieces were produced by Ford under a licensing agreement. This shows that the Jeep was the most widely produced light vehicle of the war industry during World War II. Even after 80 years, the "Willys" is still considered today, to be the four-wheeled vehicle which is most symbolic of the American army during the Second World War, and thanks to its enthusiasts and collectors, there are many examples of the jeep, still in perfect working order. The car made its debut in 1983 competitions where it was able to compete in terms of speed and performance to the Porsche cars, reference point in racing competition at those time. However the lower level of reliability affected the results. A lot of Italian drivers raced on the Lancia LC2 before to became famous in Formula 1 racing as Patrese, Alboreto and Nannini.
