The design had high wing, four engines and the cabin elevated over the fuselage. The airframe was fully made in metal. The Operational status was reached on January 1941 and the first war mission was dated February 1941 against logistic installation in Rotterdam. Stirling Mk. Article number: 510000106 Product: 1:72 Caproni CA.313/314 Vintage The twin-engined Ca.313 was developed by Italian aeronautical company Caproni in the late 1930s. Inspired by the Caproni Ca. 310 Libeccio, it was used by the Regia Aeronautica during the Second World War to undertake light bombing, aerial observation and reconnaissance missions. The two 12-cylinder Isotta Fraschini Delta RC 35 engines delivered 730 hp and allowed the Caproni to attain a maximum speed of 430 km / h. The engines powered three-blade metal propellers with variable pitch. The Ca.314 version was modified for use in other roles such as ground attack, maritime reconnaissance, convoy escort and as a torpedo bomber. The "Caproni" were deployed by the Regia Aeronautica on various operational fronts in the Mediterranean and North Africa. They were also used by the Swedish Air Force and the German Luftwaffe.

In particular, the C-47s received by British Royal Air Force and Commonwealth Air Forces took the name "Dakota" and they were used for logistic, tactical transports, launch of paratroopers and medical evacuation. To meet the logistical needs of the US Army landing forces in transferring loads quickly and efficiently from ships to beaches, the American General Motor CCKW-353 2½ t 6x6 amphibious version tactical transport truck was designed and built for this purpose. The basic vehicle components were the same as the GMC road truck with its 4,400 cm3 6-cylinder engine, three differentials and six driving wheels. The DUKW was characterized by a welded hull to make it amphibious, which was then reinforced by horizontal ribs. Its key attribute however was its extraordinary versatility and load capacity. It could carry a 2,400 kg payload or 25 fully equipped troops. DUKWs were deployed extensively in all theaters of war by the U.S. Army, U.S. Marines and the armed forces of numerous Allied countries. The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is one of the most famous fighters in the history of aviation and also one with the longest operational life: its history began at the end of the 50s and ended, for some air forces, in mid 2000s. Its unique airframe, with slender fuselage and very little wing surface, made this aircraft ideal as an interceptor. Thanks to the thrust of its General Electric J79-GE-11A afterburning turbojet engine, it could exceed Mach 2,2 with an excellent rate of climb. But it wasn't very maneuverable and difficult to pilot.The F-104G Starfighter was produced on license by several European aviation industries. From the mid 60s, it became the standard interceptor for many NATO countries including Italy, Germany, Holland, Greece, and Turkey. The armament was basically the same found on previous versions, with a 20mm Vulcan cannon and the option to fit under the wings air-to-air missiles, bombs, or additional fuel tanks to increase the airplane's range.With time, reconnaissance duties were added to the traditional interceptor service. The F-104G was therefore fitted with a dedicated "Orpheus" reconnaissance external pod that gave excellent operational results.

Due to its Pratt & Whitney turbojet engine with afterburner, it was able to exceed the then maximum speed of Mach 1.8. It entered service in the late 1950s with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps fighter squadrons to replace the obsolete Vought F7U Cutlass. The F-8E had good operational longevity and was deployed routinely by the US until the Vietnam War. Manufactured in more than 20,000 units starting from 1941, it was, alongside the Messerschmitt Bf 109, the most renowned fighter aircraft of the Luftwaffe. In its early versions, such as the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8, the fighter was equipped with a BMW 801 D-2 double-row radial engine with 14 cylinders, delivering 1,700 horsepower, enabling it to reach a top speed of 653 km/h. Over time, designers capitalized on the successful aerodynamic structure of the aircraft, achieving what can be considered its ultimate evolution. The adoption of the powerful liquid-cooled Junkers Jumo 213 12-cylinder engine necessitated a revision of the aircraft's design, resulting in an elongated nose. The D version was aptly nicknamed by Luftwaffe pilots as "Langnasen-Dora" (Long-nose Dora), but once in flight, they immediately appreciated its characteristics and capabilities. BF-110 C-3/C-4 Zerstörer Alongside the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter and the Junkers Ju-87 Stuka dive bomber, the Messerschmitt Bf 110 Zerstörer is considered one of the symbols of the Luftwaffe during the Second World War. The Messerschmitt's heavy multi-role twin-engine fighter was extensively employed by the German air force during the war and, in its various versions, used to fulfill several operational roles: interceptor, fighter-bomber, reconnaissance, anti-ship aircraft, and night fighter. Its two Daimler-Benz DB 601 engines, capable of delivering 1200 hp, allowed the heavy fighter to reach a maximum speed of 560 km/h. Versions C and D were widely deployed on all fronts from the early stages of the war. Heavily armed with two 20mm cannons, four 7.92mm machine guns, and a rear machine gun for self-defense, it could carry bombs or additional fuel tanks under the wings to increase its operational range. Thanks to its two Jumo 211 engines, it was able to reach the maximum speed of 440 km / h and it could load up to 2,000 kg of bombs in the internal loading bay. The CANT Z.501 "Gabbiano" was a central-hull seaplane designed for maritime reconnaissance, developed by engineer Filippo Zappata for the Cantieri Riuniti dell'Adriatico (C.R.D.A.) in the 1930s. The aircraft's design featured a large high wing and lateral floats, making it suitable for patrol, search, and rescue operations at sea. It was powered by a 900 HP Isotta Fraschini Asso XI engine, providing good range and a maximum speed of 275 km/h. The CANT Z.501 began its operational service during the Spanish Civil War but was extensively used by the Regia Aeronautica during World War II in the Mediterranean theater. The JU-87 Stuka was the standard ground attack plane and dive bomber of the German Air Force at the beginning of WWII. In spite of its mediocre characteristics it achieved considerable fame through the psychological impact it had on the population and on the enemy forces. Never before has such massive employment of aircraft been experienced. The success of the Stukas during the first phase of the war was due to total air supremacy guaranteed by the Luftwaffe fighters which permitted the Stukas to operate without being disturbed by enemy aircraft. During the battle of Britain the myth of the JU-87 was re-dimensioned due to the supremacy of British fighter aircraft. Nevertheless the Stukas operated until the end of the war from the African theater to Russia.

The JU-87 dive bomber is certainly one of the best known aircraft of WW2. The characteristic "gull wing" aircraft gained great notoriety at the beginning of the war, and is considered, together with the Panzer Divisions of the Wehrmacht, as defining symbols of the Blitzkrieg. During the war, new versions with differing operational profiles were introduced. The Ju-87G was developed as an "anti-tank" version of the Stuka, to counter the vast array of enemy armored vehicles deployed on the eastern front post 1943.The Stuka "ace" Hans Ulrich Rudel proposed the addition of two 37 mm Flak 18 cannons housed in underwing pods to better counter this developing threat. With this configuration the Ju-87G "Kanonenvogel" proved extremely effective in the hands of experienced pilots. The Stuka first flew in 1935 and made its combat debut in 1936 as part of the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War . The aircraft was easily recognizable by its inverted gull wings and fixed landing gears. The Stuka's design included several innovative features, including automatic pull-up dive brakes under both wings to ensure that the plane recovered from its attack dive even if the pilot blacked out from the acceleration. It became soon the icon of the German "Blitzkrieg" during the first stages of the Second World War providing the air support to the Wehrmacht Panzer Divisions. It was used by Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain where it showed its weaknesses compared to the faster and well-armed modern fighters as Hurricane and Spitfire.

Article number: 510072005 Product: 1:72 King Tiger The heavy tank Sd.Kfz 182 Panzer VI Ausf. B "King Tiger" came into service with the German army since mid 1944. Compared to its predecessor, the Tiger I, several differences and improvements have been adopted : a completely new chassis, a stronger armor characterized by the sloped frontal hull (bringing to a total weight of almost 70 tons) and the lethal 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 gun as main armament. Thanks to its Mayback V-12 engine the King Tiger was able to reach the maximum speed of 42 Km/h. For the mass production two different turret solutions has been used : the Porsche turret, at the beginning, and the Henschel turret for the most of the units produced. Both ot them were able to load 80 rounds for the main cannon. The first combat use of the King Tiger was by the 503rd Heavy Panzer Battalion during the Battle of Normandy on July 1944.
