The control of the bridge, renamed in code "Pegasus" was a key point to make secure the eastern flank of the operational scenario and to prevent German armour troops counterattack that could reach the Allied landing area at Sword beach. The British paratroopers, in Horsa gliders, landed near the bridge and, thanks to a rapid and effective action, defeated the German troops that defended the bridge. It could be used both in an anti-aircraft role and against ground targets. It was similarly effective against lightly armoured vehicles such as trucks, armoured cars, and light tanks. The Breda’s ammunition could penetrate armour up to 30mm. thick. It was supplied in a variety of configurations for the Italian "Regio Esercito," which used it in a fixed position installed on trucks and reconnaissance cars, or in the extremely popular towable field version. The tripod carriage had a stable cross platform with two foldable side legs for towing operations, and two side wheels. It was used by the Italian Army on all its operational fronts during WW2. Earlier, Dragon recently released a collection of 1/35 scale figures representing soldiers fighting in the hot, sandy deserts of North Africa. This time around, these well-wrapped soldiers provide a strong contrast to those desert warriors. There are five Dragon 1/35 scale figure sets in this assortment. Most of these sets have not been available for quite some time, so this is the perfect opportunity for modelers to restock their shelves or to make a vignette straight from the box.
