Sd.Kfz.167 Sturmgeschütz IV The Sturmgeschütz IV was developed on the chassis of the Panzer IV medium tank to provide the German army with an assault gun capable of effectively serving as a tank destroyer in the later stages of World War II. The Stug IV was equipped with a Stuk40 75mm L/48 high-velocity gun installed in a casemate, protected by armored mantlet, capable of penetrating the armor of major enemy armored vehicles. Distributed to units in the early months of 1944, it supplemented and often replaced the Stug III assault gun, which had experienced a sudden decrease in production in 1943 due to increasingly frequent Allied bomber raids on German industrial areas. Widely deployed on the Eastern Front, the Stug IV was also utilized by armored units and anti-tank detachments of the Wehrmacht in Normandy, where its low profile proved to be particularly difficult to identify in the hedgerows of the French countryside. Fighting on the Ostfront was a brutal affair, and it eventually became the main cause of Germany’s defeat. Now Dragon has brought together a collection of eight 1/35 scale figure sets that portray German soldiers fighting on the deadly Eastern Front in the late-war period from 1944 through to mid-1945. There are some favorite classics among these kits, plus half of them are finely detailed Gen2 figure sets. The plastic figures depict German soldiers in different parts of the Ostfront in different weather conditions, defending vigorously as they make the long retreat back towards Germany. Thanks to its features, the HEMTT is able to guarantee a great off-road mobility and significant transportation performance. It has become the real "workhorse" of the Army capable of carrying ammunition and equipment in a very effective way. In a lot of conflicts, as in Iraq and Afghanistan, it has been often modified by the field workshops, on the specific requirements of the crews, in order to be more and more effective in the hard operating environments, Furthermore some HEMTT versions have been modified to be used in escort and convoys protection duties. The "Humvee" went into production during the 1980s and is characterized by its large dimensions and operational flexibility, due in part to the four-wheel drive and the robust structure, which can withstand the most challenging operational and environmental conditions. Different versions were made for roles such as troop transport, logistics, advanced reconnaissance and target acquisition. The M966 Tow Carrier version was equipped with a Tow missile system mounted on the roof of the vehicle in order to increase the Humvee's offensive potential against tanks and other armored vehicles. At the beginning this tank had wheels with rubber rim,which will be replaced in the following productions starting from February 1944, but it was equipped withthe new turret with increased protection and better cupola for the commander. Besides some of thesevehicles maintained the characteristic system of dust filters Feifel, and the smoke grenade launchers. On thetanks produced since August 1943 was also applied a magnetic mine paste that will become standard on alltanks of the German Army.
